Happy spring!

It's spring time here! That means lots of sprucing up the yard and getting our little garden planted. Joan was also hard at work remodeling the chicken coop. Hopefully with the new roof, reinforced chicken wire, and a cement moat, the chupacabra will spare our next batch of little pollitos!

Spring also means those typical fall holidays for us: Halloween being the first. Joan found big pumpkins at the grocery store in Santiago this year, so he got to carve his first pumpkin ever! He even carved  a bonus pumpkin for Camilo.

Later, we tried to get a family photo under the blossoming sour cherry tree. This was the best we could get - we just could not coordinate Eomer and Camilo looking at the camera at the same time.

Later we packed up our pumpkins and headed off to a Halloween party. Eomer has been packing on the extra pounds since his cancer and all of the steroids he's been taking. The original plan was for him to wear his skeleton suit to match Camilo, but the only costume we could get him was the hotdog. So here he is waiting patiently under the snack table for anything edible to drop.

And here's our Halloween family photo: who knew that if you cross a robot and a lady pirate, you end up with a baby skeleton? (Also who knew that it would only take me 5 minutes of rummaging through my normal clothes to put together a pirate costume? I don't know if I'm proud or disturbed by this!)
