Getting prepared.

Today Joan and I had long chore day - but we got a lot accomplished! While he tended the garden and installed the baby car seat in the car (which was a bit of challenge, I gather from the cussing and swearing), I finished painting baby furniture and some other half-finished arts and crafts projects...

The crib and dresser are finally finished! Joan and I couldn't really be bothered picking a color "theme" so we went with rainbow - though we are heavy on the greens and oranges.

The walls still need something, they're pretty white, but the rest of the "decor" is so noisy, I'm hesitant to put anything up.  The curtain print, which is hard to see from this picture, is a retro circus animal theme and really cute!

I'm really excited to get into cloth diapering - just look at all these fun colored diaper covers! I'm not going to want to put Camilo in clothes!

And here's my stash of cloth diapers that Joan's aunt made for us. They don't sell regular old gerber-style, prefold diapers here in Chile, so rather than diaper Chaka in flat diapers that double as cheese cloth (no joke, I really use flat diapers as cheese cloth), I had to draw a picture and send them out to be made!

Again, cute fabric you can't see well in the picture (neon animals), but this is a padded play mat I made that is backed with water proof fabric. So it's pee proof but also protects baby if we want to throw it down on the grass outside!

I also made a bunch of iron-on decals today for Camilo's shirts. I LOVE these so much! I can't wait to put him into all of these shirts! I think they'll go (or clash?) nicely with all the cute diaper covers!
