Half way there!

So we made it past the half way point of pregnancy! To those keeping track with food shapes, Chaka weighs as much as a large banana and is about 10 inches long from head to toe. He's getting so big! I'm feeling little nudges and kicks more frequently now, but I still wish they came more often - it's so much fun to feel him squirming around in there!

Over the weekend Joan and I went up to my field sites in north for a final round of fieldwork before I officially "take it easy" for the rest of the pregnancy. Joan did a great job [over]protecting me, doing most of my work for me, and helping me scramble and slide around on slippery rocks without falling down.  Now that my belly is getting bigger and bigger (I put on 7 pounds just in this past month!), my balance isn't what it used to be. Don't believe me? Here's some photo evidence of how both Chaka and I are getting bigger and bigger! (This will be the one and ONLY bikini shot of my pregnancy!)
